About
A small company that plans to be around a while.
Seneboy Ventures Inc. is a software company in Calgary, Alberta. We build apps for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux, and we make our money selling them.
What we do
We design and ship our own software rather than building it for other people. Each app is written once and released on all five platforms, because nobody does all their work on one device any more.
Right now that's Aviator Archive, a logbook for professional pilots.
Why we build this way
Most software is rented now, and for plenty of things that's fine. It's a bad deal for records you have to keep for years. A pilot's logbook is a career document, and losing access to one because a subscription lapsed is not an acceptable way for anything to fail.
So our apps keep your data on your own devices and export all of it, in formats other programs can open. That rules out a few designs that would have been easier to build and better business for us. We decided we could live with that.
How we work
We're small, and we'd rather stay small and keep supporting what we've already shipped. Releases take longer than they would somewhere bigger. In exchange, the person who fixes your bug is the person who wrote it, and there is nobody in between.
Daniel
Founder · Working pilot
Seneboy Ventures is run by a working pilot who also writes software. Aviator Archive began as the logbook he wanted for his own flying, and the company grew out of it.
